SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
Today is the first of the three doctrinal feasts celebrated after Pentecost, which commemorate not a person but a theological tenet, doctrine, or devotion. Today's solemnity celebrates the doctrine of the Triune God, one God in three divine persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
In the fourth century, the Church underwent a serious crisis when Arius, a priest of Alexandria, denied the divinity of Christ, and as a consequence, faith in the Trinity and the equality of the three divine Persons. This heresy, called Arianism, was condemned by the coucils of Nicaea (325) and Constantinople (381). The result was the formulation of the Creed that we recite at Mass Today. In the celebration of Eucharist, notice how frequently we articulate our belief in the Trinity: with the Sign of the Cross, the Doxology at the end of the presidential prayers, the Gloria, the Profession of Faith, and the Eucharistic Prayer culminating in the Great Doxolgy above, and finally with the Solomn Blessing at the end of Mass.
FEASTING AT THE TWO TABLES: WORD AND EUCHARIST
Today's profoumd Opening Prayer should stop us short: "Father, you sent your Word ... and your Spirit ... Through them we come to know the mystery of your life." Amazing - God's giving reveals God's mystery. Is that true for us? Does what we give, rather than what we keep reveal who we are? More than a call to greater charity, the mystery of the Trinity is a call to revealing who we are by limiting how much we keep. No more hoarding of things, no more hoarding of people or time. Sharing these will give others a gift: the revelation of our mystery. Perhaps it is no accident that today is the feast of All Saints on the Greek Orthodox calendar. For what else is sainthood but imitating God by sharing our whole life? (GCJB)

RENOVATION
You may note that the caprets have been removed. We send a special "THANK YOU" to Maurice Tuyttens, John Wiens, and Lorne Jackson for helping Peter remove the old carpets in the Chapel, Foyer and Sacristy. A hard job well done! Thank you for your faithful stewardship of time, talent and treasure that enables us to be the Church. By your gifts, we are building the Church. The new flooring installation should be underway by June 2nd. Due to immeidate lack of funds we have contacted the dioceses for a loan of $22,000.00 to complete this project. Many of you have viewed the carpet and tile that we will be using in these areas. Hopefull with your generous donations we can pay this loan off in a short time.
